Loads of natural snow, demanding free-ride-routes, snow parks for snowboarders, an ice camp and the exhibition of “Gipfelwelt 3000“  - a visit on Mount Kitzsteinhorn is a great pleasure for every skier. This glacier has been Austria’s first glacier ski region.

Gipfelwelt 3000 – exhibition and highlight on the Kitzsteinhorn glacier

All year round many great events take place at Gipfelwelt 3000. Enjoy impressive panoramic views combined with culinary delights. At the top station of the rope way you will find a cinema showing impressive pictures of Kitzsteinhorn mountain. In case you want to know more about the region of Zell am See-Kaprun you should visit the national park’s gallery. At the end of this 363-meter tunnel you will get to the view observation platform.

Ice Camp: Fascinating igloo landscape on the Kitzsteinhorn

Enjoy the stylish Ice Camp in winter at 2600m. Softly lit igloos furnished with couches made of ice and reindeer furs invite you to stay for a drink at the Ice Bar. Over 60 tons of ice are used to build the Camp every year - a must-see. (Entrance is free).

New since autumn 2015: Gletscherjet 3+4

Winter sport and glacial adventure on the Kitzsteinhorn are even more comfortable and intense due to the new „Gletscherjet 3 +4 lift axis: The glacier can be reached much more quickly, the comfort and capacity has been greatly improved. The central glacial skiing area has been completely restructured – wide pistes with new dimensions for winter athletes. Families and winter-sport beginners love the new practice slope on the Kitzsteinhorn at 2.600 (snow-sure) meters. Excursion guests can experience an impressive glacial round tour, the whole year through, with the new Gletscherjet 3+4.

Kitzsteinhorn snow park - fun on rails and pipes

On the Kitzsteinhorn you can visit of the biggest snow parks of the Alps that has already won various awards. There is an area for beginners, as well as an area for professionals, the central park. Here you will also find Austria’s biggest super pipe – the 160-meter long and 6.6 meter high pipe is the absolut highlight for freestyle skiers and snowboarders.

Free-riding on the Kitzsteinhorn glacier

Kitzsteinhorn glacier is not only a freestylers‘paradise but also one of the most popular free-ride destinations in the Alps. The main reason for this – snow is guaranteed for 10 months of a year. Another reason is the region’s focus on the free-riders‘safety. Before using the free-ride routes skiers will learn everything relevant about Alpine dangers.
